A Little About Me...Hello! I'm Kris Simonian (the guy in the hat) and I'm a writer. I'm assuming the stock pencil image may have clued you in, but the real question is why hire me? What's my story anyway?
I previously worked with an Emmy Award winning dramatic writer for several years as his writer's assistant/unofficial therapist. In my time, we developed TV projects for HBO, Showtime, BBC and other international companies - both drama and comedy - as well as several independent features and even a graphic novel. I had a part in every facet of development - research, writing, rewriting. It was a insane but rewarding time. Independently, I currently have two projects in development - "1992" is a dramatic feature about the 1992 Los Angeles riots. "Ringside" is a dramatic series about an aging and disrespected boxing promoter who gets an unlikely second shot at greatness. Besides these two projects, I have several scripts for you to check out in the above "Scripts" section (not just a clever title). In 2010, my writing partner and I co-created a six part dramedy web-series titled “Ghouls”. It was exhausting work (we shot all six episodes in three days) but the end result was worth it. We won several awards at the L.A. Web Festival including “Best Writing in a Dramedy Series” and “Best Dramedy Series”. In 2012. I won a Silver Telly for a short film I wrote for Santa Clara University's baseball team called “Relentless Development”.
